Dries Van Noten Spring 2027 Makes Glamour Feel Personal Again
Julian Klausner turns old-school movie-star fantasy into a wardrobe made for real life.
What happens to glamour after the cameras stop rolling?
For Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2027, creative director Julian Klausner imagined an actress leaving a day on set and stepping back into the real world. The movie may be over, but a little of the character remains. That idea shaped a collection where glamour felt less like an event and more like a state of mind.
Instead of traditional evening dressing, Klausner built his version of glamour through small gestures: a sparkling brooch, a cinched belt, a strong shoe, an unexpected print or a piece of jewelry layered onto something otherwise casual. The result was polished without becoming precious.
CINEMA MEETS THE EVERYDAY
Vintage movie posters became one of the collection’s strongest visual signatures.
Fictional film graphics appeared across fluid dresses, skirts and outerwear, giving the clothes the feeling of old cinema advertisements pulled from another era. But Klausner avoided turning the theme into costume.
The pieces were relaxed, wearable and often layered in ways that felt intentionally spontaneous.
A printed dress could sit underneath a cropped jacket. A masculine knit could be paired with a feminine skirt. Jewelry appeared alongside practical separates. Softly constructed bags and sensible heels reinforced the idea that this woman has somewhere to go after the premiere. She is dressed, but she is living.
GLAMOUR WITHOUT PERFECTION
That distinction may be the most interesting part of the collection.
Fashion often treats glamour as something highly controlled: perfect hair, perfect dress, perfect entrance.
Dries Van Noten offered something different. Here, glamour comes from personality. It can be a red lip. A brooch added to something simple. A belt tightened at the waist. A dress layered in a way that feels slightly unexpected.
Those details give the clothes character without making them difficult to wear. Klausner described the collection through the image of a movie siren both on and off screen, suggesting that dressing up does not need an audience. Sometimes the pleasure is simply trying something on, looking in the mirror and discovering a different version of yourself.
KLAUSNER CONTINUES TO FIND HIS VOICE
Since taking creative leadership of Dries Van Noten, Klausner has faced the difficult job of moving a beloved fashion house forward without losing the color, print and emotional richness that built its reputation.
Spring 2027 shows increasing confidence. The collection still speaks the language people associate with Dries Van Noten—layering, expressive prints, rich color and unconventional combinations—but it does not feel like an exercise in recreating the past.
Klausner is beginning to make that vocabulary his own, and this season – he does it with an idea anyone who loves clothes can understand: You do not need a red carpet to feel glamorous. Sometimes all it takes is the right dress, the right brooch and somewhere to go.
