Gucci Spring 2027: Demna Builds a New Cast of Characters in Milan
For Spring 2027, Demna turns the Gucci runway into a store—and the collection into a wardrobe of personalities.
Gucci’s Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection arrived at Milan Fashion Week with Demna continuing to define his vision for one of Italian fashion’s most recognizable houses.
Instead of building the season around a single woman or tightly controlled aesthetic, the designer approached Gucci through characters. It is an idea that extends the universe introduced with La Famiglia, his earlier project for the house, where individual personalities became a way to explore the many identities contained within Gucci.
The Store Becomes the Runway
For the Spring 2027 presentation, Gucci transformed its show space into a replica of a boutique.
The setting was more than scenery. It reinforced the idea of a wardrobe built for different personalities, occasions and versions of glamour. Models emerged in everything from structured outerwear and boxy bombers to abbreviated skirts, fluid dresses and dramatic faux fur.
Rather than forcing Gucci into one uniform, Demna allowed contrasting ideas to exist beside one another.
Italian Glamour, Turned Up
There was an unmistakably Milanese sense of confidence running through the collection.
Volume met sensuality. Strong coats were balanced against body-conscious silhouettes. Leopard appeared alongside tailoring, while oversized sunglasses, jewelry and assertive accessories pushed otherwise controlled looks into more extravagant territory.
The collection also reached into Gucci’s established visual vocabulary.
Equestrian references—including horsebit details and riding boots—sat alongside GG monograms, handbags and other recognizable house signatures. These elements gave Demna a familiar language to reinterpret rather than simply abandon.
