Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2027 Turns the Family Wardrobe Into Something New

For “Stravaganza Siciliana,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana looked inside generations of Sicilian wardrobes and asked what happens when a new generation starts mixing everything together.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Dolce & Gabbana returned to Sicily, but this time the story was less about preserving tradition and more about disrupting it.

Presented during Milan Fashion Week, the collection was titled “Stravaganza Siciliana.” Its starting point was the wardrobe of an old Sicilian family: clothes belonging to great-grandmothers, grandmothers, mothers, aunts and daughters all existing in the same space.

Then the granddaughter walks in. Instead of treating those pieces like museum objects, she wears them. That simple idea gave Dolce & Gabbana one of its most playful approaches to heritage in recent seasons.

The Family Wardrobe Gets Remixed

Lace, crochet, bodices, lingerie and richly decorated jackets appeared beside loose denim, leopard print and more casual pieces. A delicate crocheted skirt could be paired with a black bra. Ornate jackets appeared with barely-there shorts. Elaborate robes met oversized jeans.

The combinations felt intentionally imperfect. That was important. Rather than presenting a carefully matched wardrobe, Dolce & Gabbana focused on the way real personal style develops over time. Some pieces are inherited. Others are purchased. Some are formal. Some are everyday. What makes them interesting is how the wearer brings them together.

Craft Is Still at the Center

Despite the relaxed styling, there was no shortage of Dolce & Gabbana craftsmanship.

Embroidery appeared across dresses, jackets, denim and skirts, often decorated with coral, buttons, brooches and jewel-like details. Crochet and lace referenced traditional family trousseaus, while brocades, damasks and furnishing-inspired fabrics brought the feeling of historic Sicilian interiors onto the body.

Even the collection’s more familiar house signatures—black lace, lingerie and sculpted tailoring – were adjusted. The classic Dolce jacket became lighter and closer to the body, while flared trousers brought a touch of the 1970s into the mix.

A Collection About Individuality

There is another idea running underneath all the embellishment: resistance to sameness.

Dolce and Gabbana have spent decades building a highly recognizable visual language around Sicily, sensuality, tailoring and decoration. Spring 2027 does not abandon that identity.

Instead, it loosens it. The collection suggests that heritage becomes more interesting when the next person is allowed to change it.

A lace dress does not need to be styled politely. A precious jacket does not need an equally precious skirt. Something inherited can live beside something completely modern. That tension between memory and individuality gave the collection its strongest moments.

Dolce & Gabbana Looks Back Without Standing Still

Fashion has spent several seasons looking backward, but nostalgia becomes far more useful when designers allow the past to move.

That is where “Stravaganza Siciliana” succeeds. Rather than recreating one specific era of Sicilian glamour, Dolce & Gabbana placed decades of clothing together and allowed the wearer to decide what belonged.

The result was recognizably Dolce & Gabbana – black lace, leopard, embroidery, sensuality and all, but with enough looseness to feel like a wardrobe being lived in rather than preserved.

For Spring 2027, the family closet is open.  Take what you want. Mix it your way.
