Serena Williams Designs Her Own Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

The tennis icon brings strength, femininity, and her own design perspective to a limited-edition Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph.

Serena Williams’ relationship with Audemars Piguet has entered a new chapter. After more than a decade with the Swiss watchmaker, Williams has moved beyond simply wearing the brand’s watches and helped shape a Royal Oak of her own.

The result is the Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph “Serena Williams” Limited Edition, a 38 mm chronograph created in white ceramic and paired with a pink-tinted mother-of-pearl dial. The collaboration translates Williams’ personal vision into one of Audemars Piguet’s most recognizable designs.

Strength, Reimagined

For Williams, the creative direction centered on the idea that strength and femininity are not opposites.

The white ceramic gives the Royal Oak a crisp, architectural quality, while the iridescent pink mother-of-pearl dial softens the composition without diminishing its presence. Audemars Piguet says the dial was conceived to symbolize feminine energy, intuition and inner strength.

It is an approach that feels particularly connected to Williams, whose career has consistently moved between sport, fashion, entrepreneurship and culture.

A New Movement Inside

The collaboration is not limited to aesthetics.

At the center of the watch is Calibre 6401, Audemars Piguet’s new-generation integrated selfwinding chronograph movement. Developed entirely in-house, the movement incorporates a patented vertical-clutch system designed for smoother chronograph activation and improved reliability.

The movement can be viewed through the sapphire caseback, where a 22-carat pink-gold oscillating weight adds another connection between the technical architecture of the watch and its warmer visual details. The titanium caseback frame is engraved “Limited Edition.”

The model carries reference 26450CB.OO.1356CB.02.

More Than an Ambassador Partnership

Williams has been associated with Audemars Piguet since 2014, making this collaboration the culmination of a relationship developed over more than a decade. Vogue reported that the project represents Williams’ first watch created directly with the manufacture rather than simply a campaign appearance.

Audemars Piguet has also placed the collaboration within a wider story about community and the people behind individual achievement. Williams is joined by Teyana Taylor and J Balvin in accompanying campaign storytelling examining how relationships, mentors and collaborators help shape personal success.

The Royal Oak itself has carried a deep connection to sport since the collection’s first chronograph debuted in 1997. The Serena Williams edition brings that history into a contemporary conversation about performance and identity.

A Royal Oak With Serena’s Point of View

Only 500 examples of the Serena Williams edition are being produced. Along with its integrated white ceramic bracelet, the watch is offered with an additional pink rubber strap.

What makes the collaboration notable is not simply the addition of a famous name to an established watch. Williams’ involvement gives the Royal Oak a clearly defined visual idea: resilience expressed through ceramic, warmth through mother-of-pearl, and technical performance underneath both.

For Williams, it is another expression of a career built around refusing to choose between seemingly opposing identities. Strength and softness. Competition and creativity. Sport and style. This time, all of them are contained within 38 millimeters.
