Lorenzo Serafini brings saturated color, featherlight fabrics and 1920s-inspired sensuality to Milan Fashion Week.
For Spring 2027, Alberta Ferretti enters a world where fashion feels lighter, slower and deliberately removed from the noise outside it.
Creative director Lorenzo Serafini titled the collection “A Beautiful Escape,” building a wardrobe around movement, saturated color and the carefree feeling of an extended summer. Presented during Milan Fashion Week, the collection continued Serafini’s evolution of the house while preserving the romantic femininity long associated with Alberta Ferretti.
This season, color became one of the biggest statements.
Rich blues, teal, rust and mustard moved alongside softer shades of lilac, pistachio and powder pink, giving the collection a more vivid personality. For a designer often associated with restrained romanticism, the palette brought new energy without overwhelming the delicacy of the clothes.
Movement was equally important.
Slip dresses appeared with fringe and feather details, while fluid trousers, balloon pants, kimono-inspired jackets and obi-style belts created silhouettes that felt relaxed rather than constructed. Models walked through the rooms of the brand’s Milan headquarters in flats, reinforcing the collection’s easy, almost vacation-like attitude.
Serafini looked toward the 1920s for inspiration, referencing the visual worlds of Léon Bakst and the Ballets Russes alongside the decorative elegance associated with Callot Soeurs. Those historical ideas were not reproduced literally. Instead, they were filtered through modern fabrication and technique.
Metallic threads gave floral fabrics a liquid quality. Other materials created the appearance of feathers using tiny metallic elements engineered to react to movement. Lightweight layering allowed dresses and separates to float around the body rather than weigh it down.
That contrast between past and present became one of the collection’s strongest ideas.
There were lingerie references, delicate lace, sheer surfaces and flashes of skin, but the mood remained sensual rather than overt. Boudoir dressing was softened through layering, relaxed proportions and the house’s familiar emphasis on graceful movement.
The result felt unmistakably Alberta Ferretti while allowing Serafini to continue defining his own language for the house.
Rather than treating escape as nostalgia, Spring 2027 presents it as a state of mind. The clothes invite movement, ease and emotional release while still feeling firmly connected to the present.
For a few moments in Milan, Alberta Ferretti made the world feel a little less heavy.
